Simple Pleasures ~ My New $9.99 Sandals

Welcome to another week of Simple Pleasures, a place where we slow down and notice the things that often get overlooked in the busyness of our day. I'm delighted to host this event, and you guys blow me away each week with your submissions. Not only that, but as one of my favorite (and very funny) bloggers, Debbie, pointed out to me recently, you're all just so nice and friendly! Mingling with you is just plain fun. I love a good party, don't you? If you're new, please visit the Simple Pleasures page for complete guidelines. The main thing is to stay on topic, enter your permalink (email me if unsure what that means), don't link up until your post is active, and include a link back to the party (or include a Simple Pleasures button in your post, if that's easier). That's pretty much it. I can't wait to see what you've come up with today.

All summer, I searched for some gladiator sandals. Even during our recent travels, through some 11 states, I searched. No luck. Until last week, while dashing through a store, in order to get to another one (yes, I finally, after several years, broke down and had to actually go inside a mall, and not just in the outer stores), my eye fell upon a clearance shoe rack (be still, my heart!) and I saw these sitting there, calling out my name, for only $9.99. HELLO!

Even though summer is coming to a close for many folks, here in Southeast Texas my new $9.99 sandals ought to be good through Thanksgiving, at least.

They’re my simple pleasure this week. I can’t wait to see what you've discovered.

  1. They are really nice looking sandals and you can not beat that price. I looked all summer for the right type of sandals, and I could not believe how hard it was finding a attractive, comfortable sandal. Finally find some but they were not $9.99.

  9. Now, the frugal bugle cheapskate in me totally gets this simple pleasure! I just love being rewarded for my wait with a good deal.

I also want to repeat what you repeated above. (thanks) One thing that makes this party such a pleasure to me is the interaction between the party girls. I feel if we were all in the same room, I would be very comfortable and not want to leave.

  14. Dayle, I hopped over from Dawn's blog. Great sandals, but on my fat feet they'd look like casings on fat sausages! :P Hey, I'm gonna follow, love your blog and beliefs!

  17. Oh, Dayle, they're beautiful. How wonderful that you finally found what you were looking for.

I know that feeling as well. I, too, had been looking all summer for a dressy and colorful pair of flip-flops...with heels. I despaired of ever finding what I had imagined in my mind, and then I discovered Switch Flops. They are fascinating!!! (Why couldn't I be the one to invent something like that!!). The straps are velcro and are interchangeable...I have several beautiful pair of heeled flip-flops now. So, I know the exact feeling you are talking about with your gladiator sandal find.

    Wishing you a wonderful day,
    Patti

  27. Oh, Dayle! Congratulations on your daughter's marriage!!! How sweet! What a wonderful story! I do love their "serious" look (I'm sure that it IS serious - it's just that, there's even something more than that in the look - just beautiful!)

On a lighter note - love those sandals!!! =]

Dayle, I don't know why, I have several blog friends who are christians, but I especially thought of you. I have a "portrait" of my bible in my latest post - "Timeworn" - and I wanted to make sure that you saw it. I love that loosely bound bundle of papers so much. As I was taking the photo, I realized that it was like taking a picture of a family member. You know, I should probably frame it and put it on the piano!!! =]

    Love, Katy xo

It's Sunday Morning and I'm home from church with a sicky poo kid. =(
