Calendars With Oomph ~ Simple Pleasures

I like calendars that offer daily surprises, not just a blank square in which to scribble appointments or birthdays. And every December, I set out to find that perfect one to put on my desk at home. Some years I’m not overjoyed with what’s available, but not this year. This year was a winner—a small calendar designed by Robin Pickens, with a theme called, “Seize the day.” Every morning, I peel off the previous day’s date, to reveal some meaningful quote, accompanied by delightful artwork. It may seem a bit odd, but I find this little calendar to be a true simple pleasure. I look forward to the discovery every morning.

When I peeled off yesterday’s page, would you look at what I found? Could the quote be more perfect for the occasion?

Have you discovered a simple pleasure this week? If you have, I’d love to hear about it. If you're new to this party, please click on the Simple Pleasures page (see tab above) before linking up. There is important information there, and a few specific guidelines that need to be followed. Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to visit me here. It's always a joy to see you.

What's your simple pleasure this week?

  1. I love your quote for the day...Simplicity. It sounds like such an easy thing to achieve but sometimes it seems nothing could be further from the truth! Have a wonderful week, Patty

  2. Dayle, I haven't had one of these in a long time! But, it is a wonderful thing, to tear off each new page (day) and see what is waiting to be read. I call this "life lessons"! Teach me Lord, what I can learn from this today. These short & simple but meaningful words are usually the ones that linger with me. Have a wonderful Thursday. I've missed stopping by & joining in. Hope to soon!

  5. Hi Dayle...Loved your calendar. Had to chuckle when I saw your post because I was going to write on calendars and then changed my mind. When I looked at your post, I knew why! Ha! Great minds think alike. Take care and have a sweet Friday. Susan

  6. I'm so frustrated. I think I'm supposed to see a picture with a quote, but I don't. Something is eating pictures not just from my own blog posts but from random others.

It ate one from Jennie at Though it be Madness... everyone else can see it, but not I. It's the most bizarre thing.

So anyway, I'm sure it's a great quote. I just can't see it.

  23. Well, I'll just say that life is not fun without the simple pleasures party. Not only did your picture disappear (and it still has not reappeared) but the whole PARTY dropped off my page.

I see it's back now. Hopefully, I'll get to enjoy reading some of them over the weekend. I just didn't even bother trying to post a post.
There was simply no pleasure to it.

    Have a HAPPY WEEKEND, Dayle.
