A Little Summer Break

After much back and forth, and a bit of hemming and hawing, I have decided to take a little summer break from the Simple Pleasures series, at least for a few weeks. I may even be back as soon as July. Time will tell. And it was a tough decision, becaue I love this party so much.

Here's the thing. My summers are generally slow and easy, but this one is shaping up to be busy, with The Man and I on the road some, which makes it a bit difficult to host a party. As I said, time will tell how long my break lasts.

So … I guess you could say that is my simple pleasure for today—a little break. I think we all need to take a break from the routine occasionally, and I hope you’re able to do that for the next few weeks, as well.

And I hope you won’t forget about me. I’ll still be blogging (about as often as I do now), so stop by and see me sometime, and let me know how your summer is going.

In the meantime, let’s get this party started!

What’s your simple pleasure? If you’re new here, please read the guidelines under the Simple Pleasure tab above before posting. If you check back later and discover your link has been deleted, it isn’t personal.

Please note that I will be slow in getting around to chat with all of you, but don't give up on me. I'll be there eventually, and always come away from your blogs feeling like a million bucks.

  1. Dayle,
I am so glad we are still celebrating Simple Pleasures this week!
I had one all set and posted and was just waiting to link up. Now I can go to bed.
I hope you enjoy your well deserved break and look forward to visiting your blog throughout the summer. It has been such a pleasure. Another Simple Pleasure.

  3. You deserve a break, and summertime is just the time to do it. I have been in great need of time myself lately so I totally get the need.

I'll be looking for Simple Pleasures between now and then.

  4. Hi Dayle:

I totally understand. Everyone needs a break now and then. I'll be checking in for your posts - didn't get a simple pleasure ready for this week, but will look forward to seeing it start back.

    Blessings for a lovely summer,

  5. Dayle,
I think your Simple Pleasure is one of the best kind. We all need a break now and then and summer is a wonderful time to do it. I had prepared my Simple Pleasure and just posted it. I will be watching for your posts through out the next few weeks.

  12. Dayle,
Last week you asked if anyone wanted to host while you were away for a few weeks. It looks like no one volunteered. I would be glad to keep it going for you until you get back as it is so much fun! If you want me to, just email me at shanda.oakley@gmail.com
    Have a wonderful summer!

  13. Shanda - I will email you privately, as well, in case you don't check back here, but there were a couple or more bloggers who offered to host Simple Pleasures occasionally. However, after thinking it over, it is a little complex to try and do that, as the linky people now require a fee for hosting. We could still use my account, but then there's the password issue and maintenance, in general. After thinking it all out, I've decided to just take a break and not have someone host in my absence. BUT, if I ever decide to give up the party completely, I will definitely be looking for someone to carry the torch, so to speak. Thanks for offering.

  28. I enjoy your Simple Pleases so much.
It's the only "party" I've ever attended and posted about.

While you are away I'm going to gather all my simple pleasures and save them. That way I won't miss anymore.

I won't "give up" on you, ahhhh, never!
I plan on dishing out my regular comments.

  31. I just found you through Cozy Little House. I read all your rules (which are perfect), ran back to my blog, wrote about my favorite simple pleasure, came back, only to find that the party was closed...silly me! I should have checked. LOL
Anyways, it was a post I was meaning to write, only I planned on saving it for another day. It's up now, and I am happy with it!
Have a great vacation. I will catch up on everybody's simple pleasures, and when you are ready, come back and we will be here!
    Take care, Esther
