A Hole in the Wall ~ Simple Pleasures

The Man and I spent a quiet weekend on Galveston Island.

Whenever we're here, one of our favorite places to eat is at Shrimp & Stuff.

The line to get in is often wrapped around the building.

It doesn't look like much, but the food makes up for it.

What simple pleasure are you celebrating today? I'd love to hear about it.
Please read the guidelines before linking up.

Edit: Mr. Linky is being especially moody today.
If you double-post, don't worry about it.
I will take care of it as soon as I'm able to log-in.

  1. Did they have to rebuild after the hurricane? So glad that one of your favorite places is still intact and thriving!

I've missed linking up! For some reason, I thought your break was through the summer. So glad you are back! Hope you are rested and refreshed.

  2. I was going to ask the same thing about the hurricane. It's wonderful that your favorite old place is still standing. My husband had a favorite old "hole in the wall". It was a BBQ place. It closed not too long ago, and it's really missed.

I'm ready to link up, but I'm so odd that I don't like to be first. Do I need therapy?

  3. Dayle,
So glad you had a chance to relax and get away for awhile and that your favorite place was there for you to enjoy.

  4. Great find!
Everyone should have a special, downhome, hole in the wall place, to enjoy.
    Love the ambience.

  5. Hi Dayle, can you delete one of my entries? We are having internet problems so it posted twice. :/

I haven't been to Galveston since I was about 10. So nice to see that the familiar is still there for you to enjoy. Best wishes, Tammy

  6. Hi Dayle,
Isn't it nice to visit favourite eating places?
My hubby and I have a favourite Italian Pizza place we like to visit. We don't go all the time ... just often enough to keep it special.

  9. I love finding places like this. My husband and I are always looking for mom and pop restaurants of the beaten path. You can find some really good food when you get away from the chain places. Thanks for hosting again!

  10. Places like that are more than pleasures, they are treasures. Okay, now I'm hungry for shrimp. ;)

  11. Better to have great food and a humble decor than a 'flash' place with lousy food any day!!
It's wonderful when you find such a little gem isn't it?!
    I'm glad you have :-)

  13. As for the Hurricane Ike issue, I don't think this place had to rebuild, but probably had some damage/flooding. Good question. I never thought to ask that one.
