Working Girl

In case you've missed me, even just a tiny bit, here's where I've been hanging out this week, as a gainfully employed retiree.

My niece and her husband own this adorable little shop in Old Town Spring (Texas), and left me in charge while they're out of town.

To be surrounded by pretty things all day is a little intoxicating.

It smells like autumn in here.

Got some music on the radio.

The weather is fine.

What more could a girl ask for?

I'll be here through Friday, if you're in the neighborhood. Stop in and say, "Howdy!"

  1. Looks wonderful...to both shop at, or work at. What a cute little shop! Enjoy!

  2. That is the perfect job. What a fun place.
(I even bet you didn't have to fill out an application, either.)

How nice that they can reley on you to help fill in. Sounds like a great relationship, all around.

  5. Howdy, Dayle! Oh, what a delightful place to spend time. Are you going to work there regularly? I LOVE that white birdie cage. That's a stunner. Have fun and thanks for sharing. They couldn't have picked a better person to fill in while they are away. Susan

    1. You're so sweet, Susan. To answer your question, no, I'm only here until Friday, but have enjoyed it and would be glad to do it again, should the need arise.

  6. I've been to Old Town Spring years ago on a trip to Texas to visit the Hubs relatives. I loved it, and love imagining you there.

  7. Right before I fell off the planet, I followed their blog to see what they had on the work bench. I need to check by there. If you see a face peeking in the cyber window, wave. It'll be me.

Seriously, it really does look like exactly like the type of shop I love. Since I recently purposed in my heart to stare down my fear of flying, you might actually see me there someday.

    You never know.

  9. Look at all the wonderful pretties! I think I would have a ball looking at everything, oh did you say work! It might be a tad of a trip to come visit but your photos make me feel like I am there! Have fun playing, I mean working!
