There's A New Kid in Town ~ Meet Audrey Emeline

My twin sister's beautiful daughter was scheduled to be induced today, but baby Audrey decided that yesterday would be the date of her birth. She wasn't waiting another day.

Audrey Emeline's birth made twin sister a grandmother (aka Nonnie) for the first time, and me a grand-aunt for the second time. Audrey will otherwise be known as pie, to me. So, now I have a sugar plum and a pie. I ask you, what could be sweeter than that?

Here are some of my favorite pics from the big day. I'm head-over-heels in love with her already.

Welcome to the big world, sweet baby girl!

Mommy and baby.

Me and my precious pie.

Could those sandals get any cuter?

That's some seriously cute feet.

Sugar plum and her Nanna (my big sis), seeing Audrey for the first time.
I love everything about this picture!

My beautiful daughter, enchanted by the sweet expressions of pie.

Such innocence. I love her!

As you can see, my week started off with a bang.
How about yours?

  1. So sweet, Dayle. Congratulations to you all! My grandmama used to call us "Shug" short for sugar. Every now and then it would be sugar pie. You've chosen a great name for that sweet girl.

    1. Thank you, Renee. Funny, but we also have a shug in our family--sugar plum's mom. :) Her mother actually calls her shuggie, and I still have her in my contacts as "Shoog." So sweet that our children take on "sweet" names, huh?

I don't know why I decided not to spell sugar plum the correct way, as it is really a single word, but I guess that makes her a sugar PLUM, instead of a sugarplum. LOL!

  9. Yay!! I just noticed this on my sideboard and rushed to the hospital to get a first look. I went so fast, I forgot to bring a casserole or at least some flowers.

She is sweet as PIE, and I love her real name too.
Now to check out the other blog and see if I can look like a close family friend by showing up there too.
