A Writer's Thrill

If any of my Mississippi friends subscribe to Mississippi magazine, as I do, you will find me on page 184 of the May/June issue.

When the editor contacted me in January and told me they would be publishing the piece I'd submitted, I was fairly giddy.

What a thrill to have a byline in my home state's official magazine.

I'm so blessed by God's little surprises in my life.

Until next time, dear friends, may your days be filled up with unexpected goodness.

    1. I don't believe the magazine publishes links to this particular feature on their website, but I will try to remember to post the article around Father's Day, as it was about my father.

    1. Thanks, Ceil. Yes, each accrued byline through the years is always followed by celebrations with The Man, even if it's just an extra hug. :)

  10. How wonderful! You just keep racking them up and racking them up. (Is that how you spell racking? I haven't ever racked any up so I don't know...)

  11. Dayle, thank you for taking the time to write me about my blog post featuring my "tour" of the Vicksburg Hotel. I'm so glad it led me here to your wonderful "Collection of Days."

I just finished reading your sweet story in "Mississippi Magazine," about southern fathers, and love your gracious way with words. Southern fathers are, indeed, a very special breed, and I, too, am blessed to have one of the best daddies God ever made.

I look forward to reading more of your stories.

  14. Dayle, I read your article in Mississippi Magazine and loved it!!! I'm still in my 20's, but the article was like reading a story from home. Do you know if MM will make it available electronically eventually? I'd love to share this with friends who don't subscribe, but I'm not willing to part with my copy :)

    1. Thank you, Erin, for your kind note. To answer your question, I don't know if MM will have this available on their website or not. I'm thinking this is one of the columns/pages that they do not publish electronically. If you have a scanner, you could scan the page and make either a JPEG file or a PDF file, but the best you could do is then email it to your friend. I'm flattered. Thank you.
