Have You Ever Been Mad at God?

On a scorching day in July of 1986, I found myself, for the first time in my life, angry with God. Have you ever been mad at God? Oh, I had questioned Him before, but I'd never really been mad at Him, and, this time, I was really mad at Him.

In 1989, I wrote about the powerful spiritual encounter that came out of my experience and I'm sharing it here in these images, and with the good people who gather at Charlotte's place on weekends. You can click on the images twice for a larger view.

  3. Many times it takes that release to allow God's will to be done - regardless that we then experience His miracle Such a touching story. You are my neighbor at Spiritual Sundays.

  4. Beautiful column, Dayle. It brought tears to my eyes. Yes, I have been mad at God, too, and certainly needed to read this. Our humanness does, indeed, get in the way so much of our time on earth. If we could just remember to keep praising Him, all will be well. Thank you for your wisdom, dear Dayle. You are a gem. Susan

  5. Wow, what a wonderful story to remind us of God's pursuing love toward us to bring us closer to him. No coincidence that Anna began improving at just the moment she did. It has been a joy perusing your latest posts and seeing the photos of your precious little granddaughter :) Amazing joy to you, I'm sure.

  6. Yes I have been there, friend...yelling, screaming, shaking my fist at Him...the whole nine yards. Almost as quickly as my rant would be over, I could feel His arms gently surrounding me...His way of telling me He understood and He had it all taken care of. I love your story about Anna and thank you so much for sharing this wonderful article.

  7. This was very uplifting. - I have been mad a God before. Now I know how to better deal with those angry feelings should they ever surface again.
