Simple Pleasures ~ Easy Desserts

Welcome to another week of Simple Pleasures, a place where we slow down and notice the things that often get overlooked in the busyness of our day. I love visiting with each of you every week, and it's wonderful to see that you're mingling among yourselves. That's what makes a great party, and you guys are the best! So, from my heart, thank you! If you're new, please visit the Simple Pleasures page for complete guidelines. The main thing is to stay on topic, enter your permalink (email me if unsure what that means), don't link up until your post is active, and include a link back to the party (or include a Simple Pleasures button in your post, if that's easier). That's pretty much it. I can't wait to visit with you.

  1. Dayle,
That is one of my favorite desserts especially when I use fresh peaches and a "lite" variety of whipped topping. Good any time, any where!

  2. Dayle,
I just love angle food cake! I've never tried it with peaches, however, I have used fresh berries and a drizzle of chocolate sauce!
Thank you for hosting... dee dee

  3. Absolutely perfect! I was treated to a "celebration dinner" in the hospital after I had my first child. They gave us a menu and we picked what we wanted to eat. For dessert, the choices were chocolate cake and exactly what you have described here. I picked the angel food cake and my husband thought I was nuts! I'm usually a chocolate girl through and through, but sometimes, lighter and fresher is WAY better. It makes me wish I had some...right now! :) I'll be back with my simple pleasure in the morning...unless I can't sleep!

  5. Looks delicious!! I have three peach trees that normally produce bountifully. this year, however, due to a miserable spring with freezes in late April and early May, we are getting a zero harvest. I do, however, have a couple bags of sliced peaches from last year still in the freezer. Perhaps I ought to pull one out and make a simple dessert like this one sometime this week. I LOVE fresh peaches...and while not quite the same, freshly-frozen peaches DO have a BIT of that just-picked fresh taste.

    Blessings to you,
    Patti

  11. I've never tried angel food cake with sliced peaches...and now I don't know if I'll be able to think of anything else until I have a taste!

Thank you for inviting me to participate in your Simple Pleasures several weeks back. I wanted to join in right away, but then experienced a health scare. Now that I'm home again, there's nothing more important to me than slowing down and truly appreciating the simple joys of my life. I'm looking forward to taking part, and to settling down with a cup of tea later this afternoon as I visit all those who linked up with you today!

  12. Nope!! You need not say more.
And if that angel food cake is sugar free on top of its angelic fat-freeness, you get a double thumbs up.

That's because there isn't much more pleasurable to me than guilt free delicious dessert snarfing.

I can't wait to read the other simple pleasures today. I am going to sit down with some lunch in a few hours and enjoy the party!
