Simple Pleasures ~ Morning's Sun

Welcome to Thursday's Simple Pleasures. It's a day when we slow down and notice the small things that often get overlooked and taken for granted. Each week finds me amazed and amused at the creativity of those who come here and share. If you're new, I hope you will join us. You can link up until 9 PM on Friday. Please visit the Simple Pleasures page for complete guidelines. The main thing is to stay on topic, enter your permalink (email me if unsure what that means), don't link up until your post is active, and include a link back to the party (or include a Simple Pleasures button in your post, if that's easier). That's pretty much it. Oh! And don't forget to mingle as much as you like, or have the time for. I look forward to visiting with you.

On clear mornings, there is a brief space of time when the plants lined along my bay window are sprinkled with pure sunshine. It only lasts a few minutes, and I often miss it, but whenever I do happen to catch the magical moment, I am mesmerized to the point of sitting down and enjoying the simple pleasure of watching the sun do its little dance among my plants. No matter what my mood may be, I always come away a bit more cheerful.

  5. I agree -- the morning sun is great. It is interesting to find that many cultures, not just ours, have a considerable amount of poetry penned to the sun.

  7. I know that morning sunshine feeling, Dayle...although, it doesn't come through my windows very often. Our front windows are filtered through the porch, leaving very little sunshine for the morning but as it swiftly glides up and over the house, just enough of that morning sun peeks in my side windows....what a glorious light it is. Can you imagine just how much more God's Glory shines? Here we find ourselves wanting to absorb that pure light of the sun...oh my, what it will be like one day as we can absorb His pure Glory light ♥

  13. Your plants look beautiful in those crates. I remember when I was a child I use to love to find that spot of sunshine on the carpet to lay in and watch the morning cartoons. Wonderful memories... Patty

I hope to find time to enjoy as many as I can this week. My girls are home for fall break, though, so my own ultimate simple pleasure is enjoying them!

  28. I agree completely! I found myself still lying awake in bed when the sun rose and I saw the most beautiful rays of sunlight playing out on the wall through the cracks in the blinds. Makes me wish I was awake at that hour more often! :)
