A Newborn Baby ~ One of Life's Sweetest Simple Pleasures

December is the month when Christians celebrate the birth of a very special baby, Jesus Christ, God with us in flesh. Monday found us welcoming our own special baby into the world. My sweet niece is now a mother, and her precious baby girl is not only the first grandchild on both sides of her family, but the first great-grandchild on both sides of the family. I can think of no sweeter simple pleasure than watching my mother hold her first great-grandchild yesterday. They only had eyes for each other.

What simple pleasure have you encountered this week? I hope you'll share it here. Each week, you'll find a friendly group of bloggers who come up with some wonderful simple pleasures. I look forward to this time every week. If you're new, please visit the Simple Pleasures page for complete guidelines. The main thing is to stay on topic, enter your permalink (email me if unsure what that means), don't link up until your post is active, and include a link back to the party (or include a Simple Pleasures button in your post, if that's easier). I'm looking forward to visiting with you.

  2. Congratulations! Oh, what joy your mom must have felt. I remember how my grandmother just couldn't wait to fuss over her new great-grandbabies! She actually few from Florida to Austin when my youngest was born to help me (since my oldest was a mere 18 months when Hannah arrived). She loved them like her own...
