Simple Pleasures ~ Normal Day

Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are.
~ Mary Jane Irion

I know what it means to hear someone say: “Your baby may not live through the night.” “Your father has had a heart attack.” “Your husband has been seriously injured on the job.” “Your tumor is malignant.”

In a split second, life as we know it can change. With so much senseless tragedy in the news lately, I’m celebrating the simple pleasure of a normal day.

Have you uncovered a simple pleasure this week? I’d love to hear about it. If you’re here for the first time, please click on the Simple Pleasures page for important information. Please Note: If you discover later that your link has been deleted, it is most likely because 1) your post didn't include a link back to Simple Pleasures, and/or 2) your post was off subject, covered too many subjects, and/or did not include a clear simple pleasure. This series really is all about simplicity. Thanks for all of you who make it possible. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

What's your simple pleasure?

  3. Dayle, what a great simple pleasure. We take so much for granted each "normal" day! I've not been staying away from Simple Pleasures. Just haven't lingered long enough to slow. :)
You can't tell about me I just might hop in, never can tell - wish I would have saved my birdie post for a simple pleasure.

  4. Dayle...you have a pit-bull! So do I! In fact mine looks just like yours :)

I love that dog so much...he is my simple pleasure...his unconditional love fills me everyday. He is the first one to greet me in the morning, and the last one to say goodnight to me in the evenings.

    Thank you for sharing...

    Maria.

  6. Hi Dayle,
I found your blog through my friend Maria. I love this meme.
Oh how I love that quote!!!! Not too long ago, I was saying how much I was hoping to just get back into a normal routine, normal days. I love when I have nothing to do for a whole week and just stay home and call it "normal, everyday routine" your picture is so perfect for this post, beautiful!!!!
    Blessings,

  11. To those who've asked, the puppy dog in the picture is Diesel. He's our adopted grand-dog and is a very big baby, and rotten to the core. He thinks he's a poodle.
